Crabe Bleu is a modern day version of a very famous 1896 painting called Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat). The original was created by the French artist Théophile Steinlen to advertise a troupe of cabaret entertainers which traveled from city to city to perform their version of the Cabaret! Ramon’s pop art version reads as follows. “Introducing the tour of the Blue Crab. Delicious. Cooked into vapor( steamed)”
