About the Artist

Ramon Matheu - Pop Artist in

Maryland Eastern Shore artist and Bay Pop Shop founder Ramon Matheu creates Chesapeake Bay-inspired artwork shaped by a lifelong connection to the region’s wildlife, coastal culture, traditions, and environmental restoration.

Inspiration

Greenbury Point, located on U.S. Naval Academy property along the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, is one of those places where history, nature, and the waterfront all come together. The park offers public hiking trails, conservation areas, and the three remaining communication towers that were originally part of a much larger group built in 1938. The original nine towers were used as an umbrella antenna system for communication with Naval submarines until the end of the Cold War.

Six of the towers were demolished in 1999, but the remaining three were preserved as navigational aids for boaters and air traffic along the Chesapeake Bay, including the Blue Angels Air Show each spring. I was living on Kent Island the day they blasted the towers, and I still remember feeling my house shake when the shockwave rolled across the Bay. *3 Towers* is my tribute to that memorable landmark and its place in Annapolis history.

Each limited edition print is individually signed and numbered by Ramon Matheu.

Made-to-order items are generally not eligible for returns or exchanges due to buyer’s remorse, incorrect size, address errors, or personal preference.
