3 Towers

Greenbury Point is a public park located on the US Naval Academy grounds along the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. The popular park is host to public hiking trails, natural conservation areas and 3 remaining towers that were built in 1938. The original 9 towers were used as an umbrella antenna for communication with Naval submarines until the end of the cold war. Six of the towers were demolished in 1999, but the other three were preserved as navigational aids for boaters and air traffic along the Chesapeake Bay.
