About the Artist

Ramon Matheu - Pop Artist in

Maryland Eastern Shore artist and Bay Pop Shop founder Ramon Matheu creates Chesapeake Bay-inspired artwork shaped by a lifelong connection to the region’s wildlife, coastal culture, traditions, and environmental restoration.

Inspiration

Anyone who has pulled a live Blue Crab from a bushel basket knows there’s a good chance you’ll get more than the one you grabbed. Crabs pinch onto anything within reach—including each other—so one crab can come out with another hanging on, followed by another.

For the crabs, it’s instinct and survival. For the person trying to cook them, it can actually be pretty convenient. Sometimes they practically form their own crab train headed straight for the steamer. *Bushel of Crabs* is my humorous take on a little Maryland experience crab pickers know very well.

What is a limited edition?

A limited edition is a release of an artwork limited to a fixed number of prints. The edition size shown for your selected size and format tells you how many prints belong to that edition.

Each limited edition print is individually signed and numbered by Ramon Matheu.

It’s a personal connection to the artist and a distinctive way to bring Ramon’s Chesapeake Bay-inspired artwork into your collection.
