Having lived and worked around Annapolis for many years, I can always find inspiration close to home and along the Chesapeake Bay. One thing that always stands out is how quickly the area comes alive on a windy day. Sailors seem to sense it immediately. The wind becomes a kind of call, and before long the boats are heading toward open water. Even though I don’t own a sailboat, I’ve had enough opportunities to go sailing to develop a real appreciation for the beauty and freedom of moving quietly across the Bay under sail.

Once you’re out there, the experience has a way of pulling you away from everyday life. You’re surrounded by wind, water, and the shared excitement of other sailors chasing those same perfect conditions. *Wind, Water, Wine* captures a little of that feeling, along with the simple pleasure of sharing it with friends and family. Put out the cheese and crackers, pour a glass of wine, and enjoy the view.
