About the Artist

Ramon Matheu - Pop Artist in

Maryland Eastern Shore artist and Bay Pop Shop founder Ramon Matheu creates Chesapeake Bay-inspired artwork shaped by a lifelong connection to the region’s wildlife, coastal culture, traditions, and environmental restoration.

Inspiration

Many states proudly claim a food that helps define them. Louisiana has crawfish, Maine has lobster, and Maryland has the Blue Crab. These foods become part of local culture, restaurants, festivals, family traditions, and the pride people associate with home.

I created "OBAY YOUR INNER CRAB" around that little “eat more crabs” voice that seems to come from somewhere deep inside a Marylander. Around here, eating crabs isn’t just dinner—it’s a way of life. Sometimes you just have to stop fighting it, listen to your inner crab, and OBAY!
